Traders staged a protest in Karachi's Gulbahar on Wednesday against the murder of young businessman Mir Raza Ali, demanding justice and the arrest of those responsible.

The protest was organised by the Gulbahar Traders Ittehad, with traders from the Sanitary and Tiles Market participating. Mir Raza's father, Mir Hussain Ali, also joined the demonstration.

Addressing the protesters, Mir Hussain Ali said that the family had been waiting for justice for 22 days but had yet to see any progress. "We have lost hope of getting justice. I appeal to the prime minister to provide us justice," he said.

He gave the government five to six days to show a clear direction in the investigation, warning that the family would decide its next course of action if no progress was made.

"Think about what will happen if students and traders join hands in protest," he said.

Mir Hussain said the family had raised several questions before the new investigation team, including the role of a rickshaw in the case.

He alleged that efforts are being made to protect someone instead of properly investigating the case. He also criticised the police, saying the entire system had failed.

He said Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had not even visited the family to offer condolences.

"If Mir Raza's case is not resolved, we will take the protest across the city and the country," he warned.
