A meeting of the newly formed investigation committee probing the Mir Raza Ali murder case will be held on Monday, with DIG Aamir Farooqi set to chair the meeting.

The new investigation team will conduct an impartial probe into the case, examining all aspects afresh. Media reports said that the team would identify, collect and preserve new and additional evidence related to the case before conducting a detailed analysis.

The team will closely examine physical, technical, circumstantial and forensic evidence and has been directed to take all possible steps to solve the case. An investigation report will be submitted to the relevant court within the stipulated period.

The reports said that any officer could be included in the team if required to assist in the investigation. The team will also submit daily reports on progress in the case.

The newly formed team will record statements of members of the medical board that conducted the first post-mortem examination. Doctors and experts involved in the initial post-mortem are also likely to be formally interviewed, while the post-mortem team may be provided with a formal questionnaire.

According to the reports, investigators will also examine the basis and evidence behind the first post-mortem report's conclusion that the bullet entered Mir Raza's chest and exited through his back.

The team will review the measures taken during the initial investigation to document and preserve forensic evidence. It will also examine why the second post-mortem report reached a different conclusion regarding the direction of the bullet.
