Over 200 wedding guests hospitalised after food poisoning in Lahore

More than 200 wedding guests were hospitalised after falling ill from the food served by a local marquee in Lahore. The groom accused the marquee management of serving substandard and spoiled food that severely impacted the health of guests at the event.
The groom, Sarfaraz, a resident of Khayaban-e-Amin of Lahore, filed a complaint against the marquee in Satukatla. The venue management also offered meals in their deal to the guests.
Sarfaraz reported that he received 360 guests; 200 of them fell ill shortly after having food. They were taken to the hospital, where they were diagnosed with food poisoning, and some of them were shifted to the hospital in critical condition.

He stated that several people were being treated in the different hospitals of the city, including 31 in Narowal’s public and private hospital, 27 in Raiwand Indus, 10 in Qasor GHQ, and more than nine in General Hospital Lahore.
The groom accused marquee management of serving substandard and poor-quality food, leading numerous guest conditions to deteriorate.
Following this incident, the local administration initiated an investigation into the matter and vowed a strict action against those responsible.
In a separate wedding ceremony in India, the celebration ground turned into a battlefield when the groom's family started a riot after mutton curry was not served.

More than 10 people were injured in the incident, with the groom's and bride's families attacking each other with plates and chairs.
The fight between the groom's and bride's families began when some of the groom's relatives complained about the non-serving of mutton curry, to which the catering staff refused to accept their demands.
