Pakistan's Ministry of Interior has announced a nationwide crackdown on undocumented foreign nationals following the attack on Rangers quarters, with a particular focus on Afghan citizens residing in the country without valid legal documents.

According to an official notification issued by the ministry, all Afghan nationals living in Pakistan without valid visas or legal documentation will face immediate arrest starting July 10, 2026.

The federal government has directed the chief secretaries, inspectors general of police (IGs) of all four provinces, and the Islamabad administration to strictly implement the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan (IFRP).

The notification further states that, beginning July 11, authorities must submit daily reports on arrests and enforcement actions to the Ministry of Interior.

The government has designated the operation as a "top priority."
