One of the two bodies found early Wednesday at Sea View Apartments in Karachi has been identified as a retired army major, according to the police. The woman, a resident of the FB area, was discovered alongside him.
Following the discovery, her husband and family were called to claim her body after completing the required legal procedures.
The deceased were found in the back seat of a car within the apartment premises. Doctors stated that both had likely been dead for around 24 hours before their bodies were discovered.
The retired army major, who worked for the National Highway Authority, had been reported missing by his son after he did not return home on Monday and failed to answer calls.
Initial examinations by police and doctors suggest that the victims may have suffocated while sitting in the back seat of the car with the engine and air conditioning running. Authorities noted that exhaust fumes can accumulate inside a closed vehicle, causing unconsciousness and leading to death.

Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed confirmed there were no visible signs of abuse or torture on the bodies. Both bodies were sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a detailed medico-legal examination.
The exact cause of death has yet to be determined. Authorities have collected necessary evidence and samples, which have been sent to the relevant departments as the investigation continues.
