Sindh police have contacted the Punjab Forensic Science Agency to analyse data from the mobile phone and smartwatch of young businessman Mir Raza Ali, as investigators continue a high-level probe into his murder.

In its first press release on the case, the police said that the investigation team is conducting a detailed review of medical reports, digital evidence and previous investigative proceedings.

The team has so far received two post-mortem reports, one final report and three chemical examination reports. The latest chemical examination report was received on August 17, while a comparative and critical review of all reports is under way.

According to the police spokesperson, investigators have identified certain points in the reports that require further clarification and reconciliation. The relevant authorities and institutions are being contacted for additional information and verification.

The police said the Punjab Forensic Science Agency had been approached for analysis of mobile phone and smartwatch data, while the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) was contacted regarding matters related to digital currency.

Police have also contacted Apple authorities to unlock the deceased's mobile phone, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that clarification of unclear points in the chemical examination report could lead to significant progress in the investigation.

The investigation team is examining technical, digital, forensic and other credible evidence on a daily basis, while information obtained from Mir Raza's family, friends and other relevant sources is also being incorporated into the probe.
