TikToker Samiya Hijab, Hassan Zahid reach settlement in abduction case

A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Saturday issued notices on bail pleas filed by Hasan Zahid, accused in the case involving TikToker Samiya Hijab, after reports emerged of reconciliation between the two parties.

During the hearing, presided over by Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mehmood, the complainant, Samia Hijab, did not appear before the court. The court subsequently adjourned proceedings on Zahid’s bail applications until September 15.

Court officials confirmed that Zahid has submitted bail requests in two separate cases, including charges of abduction, harassment, and issuing threats. The cases were registered at Shalimar police station.

Sources indicated that a settlement has been reached between Hijab and Zahid, and the complainant is expected to record her statement and submit an affidavit before the court at the next hearing.

Earlier, one of Zahid’s bail requests was reportedly approved in a related case. However, Saturday’s proceedings did not allow for the reconciliation documents to be formally submitted.

The case gained attention after Samia Hijab alleged through a video statement that Zahid had been harassing her, proposing marriage, and attempting to abduct her.

She shared CCTV footage and the suspect’s picture on Instagram, claiming her life was in danger. She also cited the killing of her friend, Sana Yousuf, as a warning.
