Abbas Afridi smashes six sixes in an over as Pakistan edge Kuwait at Hong Kong Sixes

Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi delivered a remarkable performance at the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 on Friday, smashing six consecutive sixes in a single over to guide his team to a dramatic win over Kuwait.
Chasing a target of 123, Pakistan reached 124 on the final delivery, sealing a four-wicket victory. Afridi remained unbeaten on 55 runs off just 12 balls, which included eight sixes overall and the record-breaking six in an over.
Shahid Aziz also made a crucial contribution with an unbeaten 23 from only five balls, helping Pakistan cross the finish line in thrilling fashion.
Earlier, Kuwait posted 123 after a strong start by opener Adnan Idrees, who scored 17 off eight balls before being dismissed by Afridi in the second over. Bilal Tahir then struck two sixes to lift the total to 35-1.
Meet Bhavsar powered Kuwait’s innings further, hitting multiple sixes off Mohammad Shahzad’s third over, which went for 31 runs. Kuwait reached 66-1 at that stage. Abdul Samad’s fourth over yielded 22 runs as Bhavsar continued his aggressive display, taking the total to 88-1.
Maaz Sadaqat dismissed Bilal Tahir for 24, but Bhavsar and Usman Patel kept Kuwait’s momentum going with big hits in the final overs. Patel struck two sixes and a four in Afridi’s last over, which went for 39 runs, pushing Kuwait’s total to 123.
