ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Rawalpindi, Lahore to hold India's matches

As Pakistan is gearing up to host the ICC Champions Trophy next year, the media reports are suggesting that India’s three pool matches may be held at two different venues.

The proposal, reportedly put forth by the tournament's broadcasters—who also serve as broadcasters for the Indian cricket board.

The idea of holding all of India’s matches at a single venue was deemed less appealing, leading to the suggestion of multiple locations.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed no objections to this plan and has proposed Rawalpindi as one of the venues in response to the broadcasters' input.

Initially, the PCB had considered Lahore as the venue for India’s matches, but foreign media reports indicate that the broadcaster suggested the inclusion of another city to reduce travel burdens on the Indian team.

According to the proposed schedule, India is set to play against Bangladesh on February 20 and New Zealand on February 23, both in Lahore.

The much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash is scheduled for March 1. Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh are expected to be grouped together in Group A for the tournament.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is awaiting government approval to confirm its participation in matches scheduled to be played in Pakistan.
