Pakistan’s Khawaja Zubair clinches Tekken 8 title at EWC

Pakistan’s Khawaja Muhammad Zubair won the Tekken 8 title at the Esports World Cup 2026 after defeating South Korea’s LowHigh 5-0 in the grand final.

The Tekken 8 tournament was held from August 5 to 8 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, with 32 players competing for a share of the prize pool.

Zubair earned $300,000 and 1,000 Club Championship points after finishing at the top of the standings.

The Pakistani player delivered a dominant performance in the grand final, winning all five games against LowHigh without dropping a game.

Zubair’s title run came after a relatively short period on the international esports circuit. According to the Esports World Cup, he made his international debut about two months before the tournament and was eliminated in the pools.

He later returned through the Last Chance Qualifier and progressed through the EWC qualification route to reach the main competition.

During his title-winning campaign, Zubair defeated several established players, including fellow Pakistani competitor Arslan Ash.

Australia’s Yagami finished third, while Arslan Ash placed fourth. LowHigh received $130,000, Yagami earned $70,000 and Arslan Ash took home $50,000.

The official Tekken esports database lists the champion as Khawaja Muhammad Zubair, who competes under the name AG M. Zubair. His 2026 season also includes participation in the Tekken World Tour.
