Pakistan’s players experienced both gains and setbacks in the latest ICC T20I rankings, released ahead of the Asia Cup 2025.
Among batters, Sahibzada Farhan and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris made notable progress. Farhan climbed 18 places to 55th, while Haris rose 22 spots to 89th.
On the other hand, senior players faced declines. Babar Azam dropped two places to 26th, and Mohammad Rizwan slipped five places to 33rd, with both absent from T20I action since 2024. Youngsters Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz also lost ground, moving down to 46th and 47th, respectively. Captain Salman Ali Agha fell to 67th, and opener Fakhar Zaman dropped to 69th.
Globally, India’s Abhishek Sharma retained the top position in the T20I batters list, followed by England’s Phil Salt in second and Jos Buttler in third. India’s Tilak Varma slipped to fourth.
In the bowlers’ rankings, Pakistan spinner Sifiyan Muqeem advanced four places to 11th, while Abrar Ahmed gained 11 spots to reach 16th. Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi, however, dropped five places to 27th. Mohammad Nawaz and Haris Rauf also declined, ranking 33rd and 37th.
India’s Varun Chakravarthy secured the number one position among T20I bowlers, replacing New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy, while West Indies’ Akeal Hosein held third.
