The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) on Monday termed "age fraud" in junior-level (Under-21) sports events a serious violation of its code of ethics and governance.

In a notification, the PSB said, “The Pakistan Sports Board has declared age fraud a violation under the Pakistan Code of Ethics and Governance in Sports and any such act is liable to sanctions.”

“Globally, age fraud in sports, especially in junior categories, poses a serious threat to fair competition, athlete safety, and the integrity of sporting structures.”

According to the new notification, junior athletes must now submit a valid CNIC or B-Form, details of the selection committee members, and undergo dental and radiological examinations.

Additionally, verified medical reports, attested by both the president and secretary general of the sports federation concerned, must be submitted along with all supporting documents to the PSB for verification.

The PSB warned that any athlete found providing falsified or suspicious documents will be disqualified from participating in training camps and will be ineligible for financial assistance or cash awards. Disciplinary action may also follow in such cases.

It noted that such practices not only create an uneven playing field but also endanger young athletes by exposing them to physical mismatches. The PSB said age fraud undermines the credibility of sports institutions and deprives deserving athletes of fair opportunities.
