ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has intensified screening measures at airports nationwide following the World Health Organisation’s declaration of the Ebola outbreak in Congo and Uganda as a global emergency.

According to the Ministry of National Health Services, additional precautionary steps have been implemented to prevent the possible spread of the virus, while authorities continue monitoring the situation closely.

The ministry, citing WHO reports, said the current Ebola outbreak remains limited to the African countries of Congo and Uganda, with no confirmed cases reported outside Africa so far.

Travelers planning to visit African countries have been advised to carefully follow travel and health guidelines before departure and take necessary precautionary measures.
