In a provocative statement fueled by anti-Muslim sentiment, a BJP leader declared that no Muslim should be allowed to sell or consume biryani in a Hindu-majority area.

According to reports, a female BJP leader from the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh, India, issued an ultimatum to Muslim shopkeepers to vacate their stores located in the Hindu-dominated Ram Ganga Vihar area.

A video of the leader making this statement has gone viral on social media.

The BJP leader, Sunita Sharma, who is active in local politics, was seen holding a microphone in the video, threatening Muslim shopkeepers who operate non-vegetarian food stalls in the area.

Seizing the opportunity, Sunita Sharma arrived at the scene and was seen forbidding Muslims from opening shops in Hindu areas, stating that any Muslim opening a non-vegetarian shop in the area would face protests.

This incident, which took place on December 17, highlights the ongoing political friction, with Sharma continuing to claim that non-vegetarian shops were still open despite the statement from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who opposes the opening of meat shops in Hindu areas.

Sharma remarked that she would take decisive action, asserting that biryani shops were being opened in the area, declaring, "This is too much. Muslims are opening biryani shops in a Hindu area. Listen carefully, vacate the shops immediately!"
