Celebs demand justice for slain influencer Sana Yousaf

The tragic murder of 17-year-old Chitrali influencer Sana Yousaf has sparked widespread outrage, with prominent figures from Pakistan’s entertainment industry joining the public in demanding justice.

Veteran actor Nadia Jamil expressed deep sorrow over Sana’s death, urging that those responsible for the brutal act be held accountable.

She took to X, writing, “What awful news! I hope the killers of Sana Yousaf are found and punished. To think they broke into her own home as guests, on her birthday, and took her life so brutally. She was so full of life.”

Actor Maya Ali also voiced her anger and heartbreak, condemning the killing and offering condolences to the victim’s family. She called for justice not just for Sana, but for every woman harmed in the name of so-called honour.

“I don’t care about the incident, I want explanations, I want justice,” she penned on her Instagram story, adding that “Why always girls and women have to pay the price for so-called honour”. 

Actor Imran Abbas, reacting to the news, highlighted the disturbing pattern of violence against young women, particularly under the pretext of honour. He stressed the urgent need for government intervention and decisive action to prevent such tragedies, noting that Sana's case marks at least the fifth similar incident in recent months.

Lollywood superstar Mahira Khan also shared Sana’s story and called for justice, joining a growing chorus of public figures rallying around the cause.

As social media continues to erupt with outrage, the case has reignited calls for stronger laws and cultural shifts to combat gender-based violence. With the nation watching, many now hope that Sana Yousaf’s story will not end in silence, but in justice.
