Colombian president expels Israeli diplomats after attack on Global Sumud Flotilla activists

Colombian President Gustavo Petro condemned Israel’s assault on the Global Sumud Flotilla, calling it an “international crime,” and announced the expulsion of Israeli diplomats.
Two Colombian activists, along with dozens of others aboard the flotilla vessels, were abducted by Israeli forces, sparking outrage worldwide.
"Two Colombian citizens have been detained in international waters who were engaged in human solidarity activities with Palestine," Gustavo Petro said in a statement on X.
He instructed the foreign ministry to make every possible effort for the release of the activists, even if it meant approaching the Israeli justice system.
He also urged international lawyers to advocate for the flotilla sailors kidnapped by Israel and to extend their support to Colombia in order to make these efforts more impactful.
Pakistan's former senator Mushtaq Ahmed, along with dozens of international activists aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, has also been abducted by Israeli forces after several boats were intercepted on Wednesday, just 70 nautical miles from Gaza.
The flotilla, carrying over 500 activists on more than 50 boats, set sail to deliver aid and break the blockade of Gaza. While some vessels have been intercepted, 30 others continue their journey, attempting to bypass Israeli military patrols, according tot he Global Sumud Flotilla.
