In his sermon at Masjid al-Haram, Imam and Khateeb Sheikh Yasir Al-Dosari issued a stern warning against the misuse of social media, urging Muslims to verify the authenticity of any information before sharing it.

Sheikh Al-Dosari cautioned that fake fatwas and fabricated statements, often spread through false or purchased accounts, are causing societal discord and tarnishing the reputation of religious scholars.

He stressed that every post and shared content on social media will be accountable before Allah on the Day of Judgment.

He further described such deceitful accounts as dangerous tools that deliberately promote falsehood and create social unrest.

The Imam highlighted how the misuse of smartphones, instead of fostering connections, is now fueling loneliness, envy, and ingratitude among individuals.

He remarked that social media has become a platform for artificial lifestyles and unnecessary comparisons, which are contributing to both spiritual and social ailments.

Imam Al-Dosari condemned the dissemination of fake religious edicts and slander against scholars as part of a broader anti-Islam campaign and urged Muslims to remain vigilant and responsible in their online conduct.
