Indian Tejas fighter jet crashes during Dubai air show demonstration

An Indian HAL Tejas fighter jet crashed on Friday during a demonstration flight at the Dubai Air Show, according to initial reports.

Video footage obtained by NDTV shows the light combat aircraft going down at approximately 2:10pm local time, moments before thick smoke rose from the crash site. Emergency teams were seen rushing toward the area following the incident.

It remains unclear whether the pilot managed to eject before the crash. Authorities have not yet released information regarding possible casualties or damage.

An official statement from the Indian Air Force (IAF) is awaited as investigations into the incident are expected to begin. The HAL Tejas, a domestically developed fighter aircraft, was participating in the air show as part of India’s aerial display contingent.
