Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday threatened to continue targeting Iranian assets, warning of expanded military operations in the aftermath of a large-scale Israeli assault on Iranian military and nuclear sites.
“We will hit every site, every target of the [Iranian] regime,” Netanyahu said in a video message.
The Israeli leader asserted that the attacks had significantly impacted Iran’s nuclear capabilities. “We have dealt a real blow to their nuclear program,” he said. “We have opened a path to Tehran. Very soon, you will see Israeli aircraft -- our air force, our pilots -- in the skies over Tehran.”
According to Israel’s military, approximately 40 targets were struck overnight in Tehran, including missile systems and advanced air defenses. The attacks, which began Friday, have reportedly involved over 200 airstrikes across Iran, resulting in the deaths of high-ranking military officers, nuclear scientists, and senior officials, as confirmed by military spokesperson Effie Defrin.
Netanyahu issued a stark warning of further escalation, stating: “What they have felt so far is nothing compared to what they will feel under the force of our arm in the coming days.”
He emphasized Israel’s objective in the ongoing operation: “We are acting with full force to eliminate this dual threat to the State of Israel,” referencing both Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its missile capabilities.
