Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office over allegations relating to Epstein files.

Detectives from Thames Valley Police detained him at his residence on the Sandringham Estate before questioning him for nearly 12 hours.

According to police, he was later released under investigation.

The arrest was made after the release of Epstein files that showed Andrew forwarding sensitive reports and commercial information obtained during his tenure as a UK trade envoy to Epstein.

Police searches were conducted at properties in Norfolk and Berkshire, including his former residence in Windsor, as part of the inquiry.

Police stressed that an arrest indicates suspicion but does not prove him guilty.

In a statement, the king expressed “deepest concern” and said the royal family would fully cooperate with investigators, adding that “the law must take its course.”
