A deadly explosion ripped through a police station in Srinagar after a stockpile of seized explosives detonated, killing seven people and injuring 27 others. The blast occurred while police officials and forensic teams were examining the confiscated explosive material.

The incident took place in Nowgam, and the death toll is expected to rise as five of the injured remain in critical condition. The explosives were allegedly seized from suspects whom Indian authorities believe were linked to the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort earlier this week.

According to officials, law enforcement agencies had carried out raids and arrested two doctors in IIOJK, recovering the ammonium nitrate–based explosives during the investigation into the Delhi blast.

After the explosion, a fire broke out inside the police station compound, prompting emergency crews to deploy fire tenders to control the blaze. Further details of the incident have not yet been shared by Indian authorities.

Meanwhile, the search for suspects connected to the Red Fort explosion continues. Seven people in IIOJK have been detained for questioning, accused of assembling explosive devices. Pistols, rifles, and nearly 2,900 kg of explosive material were recovered from them.

Indian authorities are now trying to determine whether the driver involved in the Red Fort metro-station car blast was a doctor and if he was connected to the two doctors recently detained from IIOJK.
