A shooting incident occurred outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC on Wednesday evening, where two staff members of the Israeli embassy were killed. Following his arrest, the suspect was heard chanting, “Free, free Palestine.”
Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith stated during a press conference that the victims, a man and a woman, were leaving the venue when an armed individual opened fire on them.
According to police, the suspect had been seen loitering outside the museum earlier and attempted to enter the building after the incident. However, security personnel at the event intercepted him before he could gain access.
Chief Smith told the media that the 30-year-old suspect shouted pro-Palestinian slogans after being detained by law enforcement.

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon called for strict action against the attacker, describing the incident as a “depraved act of anti-Semitic terrorism.”
“Israel will continue to act resolutely to protect its citizens and representatives, everywhere in the world,” Danon said in a post on X.
Former US President Donald Trump also condemned the incident on his social media platform Truth Social, calling the shooting “horrible” and linking it to a rise in antisemitism.
“Hatred and radicalism have no place in the USA. Condolences to the families of the victims. So sad that such things as this can happen! God bless you ALL!" his post read.
