The United Arab Emirates has suspended visa issuance for Jordanians, according to multiple complaints by citizens in the past few days.

As per the Jordan media reports, travel and tourism agencies have informed clients that they are currently unable to process visa applications for the UAE.

A source familiar with the matter told Roya that the UAE visa suspensions came without an official statement.

The source attributed the issue to what they called a “system malfunction” – as informed by the UAE authorities.

“We regret to inform you that all visa applications for UAE from Jordanian citizens are currently being rejected. We are awaiting further clarification from the UAE immigration authorities regarding this matter,” trave agencies stated.

Earlier, Pakistanis travelling to UAE had been advised to buy return air tickets from the same airline to avoid the hassle of additional approvals.

SereneAir, a privately owned Pakistani airline, said: “For a smoother process, we recommend purchasing return tickets with SereneAir. [Return] ticket from other airlines may require additional approval at check-in."

It should be noted here that over 1.7 million Pakistanis currently reside in the UAE, and millions more travel to the country annually for tourism and job opportunities.
