US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he intends for his administration to move toward what he described as a plan to “permanently pause” migration from what he called “Third World Countries”.
Trump did not specify which nations he was referring to, nor did he clarify how such a suspension would be defined or enforced.
He said that the proposal would also cover immigration cases approved during former President Joe Biden’s term.
“I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the US system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
He added that he would move to end federal assistance programs for “non-citizens”, and stated that he intended to “denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility”.
The administration would deport any foreign national deemed to be a public burden, a security threat, or “non-compatible with Western civilization,” Trump explained.
