A harrowing moment was captured on video as a Boeing 767 cargo plane crash-landed in Turkey following a failure of its landing gear.

The incident unfolded on Wednesday morning, as reported by Metro, when the aircraft, owned by the American courier company FedEx, was en route from Paris to Istanbul.

Footage shared on X depicts the plane making a desperate attempt at an emergency landing, slamming onto the runway and dragging its nose along the concrete. Turkish media reported that Airport Rescue and Firefighting Service teams rushed to the scene.

Thankfully, there were no injuries reported as the crew safely evacuated the aircraft.

Turkey's Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure disclosed that the pilot had informed Istanbul Airport's air traffic control (ATC) about the malfunctioning front landing gear.

"Our experts have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident," the ministry stated.

While the runway where the cargo plane landed has been temporarily closed to air traffic, operations on other runways at the airport continue without interruption, according to the airport operator IGA.
