A Muslim youth was beaten and coerced into chanting "Jai Shri Ram" on January 22, near Mira Road Mumbai.
A video circulating online shows individuals assaulting a man on a motorcycle near Hindu temple that opened earlier and was constructed on the site of historic Mughal-era Babri Masjid in the Indian city of Ayodhya.
The Babri mosque was tragically demolished on December 6, 1992, by a mob of extremists.
The Foreign Office criticized the acquittal of those responsible and expressed concern about the construction of a temple on the mosque's site by saying, “India’s superior judiciary not only acquitted the criminals responsible for this despicable act but also allowed the construction of a temple on the site of the demolished mosque,”
For decades, the temple site was bitterly contested by Hindus and minority Muslims, leading to nationwide riots in 1992 that killed 2,000 people, mainly Muslims, after a Hindu mob destroyed the mosque that had stood there.
However, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the incomplete controversial 'Ram Temple,' marking a significant development in the Ayodhya dispute.
Pakistan condemned the construction and consecration of a Hindu temple on the site of the historic Mughal-era Babri Masjid in the Indian city of Ayodhya.
Furthermore, Pakistan urged the international community to take cognizance of the growing Islamophobia, hate speech, and hate crimes in India.
