In a bizarre survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan, over a third of Pakistani men said that their shoes were stolen while offering prayers at the mosques.

The recent survey, conducted from March 18 to 25, was carried out among a sample of 1,767 men in urban and rural areas of all four provinces of the country.

The company asked respondents if they had ever lost their shoes while praying at a mosque.

“Has it ever happened to you that you went to pray in the mosque and lost your shoes?”

In response, 34 percent respondents reported having experienced the loss of their shoes while praying at a mosque.

The remaining 65% disagreed with the question, while 1% were unsure or did not respond.
