A local cafe in Riyadh launched a unique marketing campaign, offering free coffee to customers who showcase their dance moves while waiting in line.

Videos circulating on social media showed male and female customers, some in traditional dress, dancing for a free caffeine treat.

The news sparked mixed reactions. While many find the concept amusing and lighthearted, others expressed concerns about traditional values in Saudi Arabia.

One 'X' user expressed outrage at the cafe's strategy and called for a boycott and demanded the arrest of its owner.

The kingdom, known for its conservative social norms, has undergone substantial change in recent years. Government-led reforms have introduced activities once considered taboo, including fashion shows, cinemas, and concerts.

Saudi Arabia hosted its first-ever fashion show with swimsuit models on May 17. The event showcased designs by Moroccan designer Yasmina Kanzal, with female models from around the world walking the runway.

The first Saudi cinema since the 1980s opened in Riyadh in 2018, followed by a multiplex cinema in Madinah.

In January 2024, A liquor shop allegedly opened for the first time in Riyadh in over seven decades.

These bold measures are part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's ambitious vision of transforming Saudi Arabia into a major tourism and business hub.
