Indian husband sets wife on fire after birth of third daughter

Maharashtra: A horrific incident occurred in the state of Maharashtra, India, where a man set his wife on fire after the birth of their third daughter.

According to Times of India, the incident took place on Thursday when 32-year-old Kundalip Atam Kale poured petrol on his wife, Maina, and set her ablaze, who died later.

A case was registered by the victim's sister, who stated that since the birth of their third daughter, Kundalip had been taunting his wife, expressing his desire for a son.

This had led to ongoing conflicts and quarrels between the couple.

Indian media reported that during an argument, in a fit of rage, the husband set his wife on fire. The woman fled the house in desperation, and neighbors rushed to extinguish the flames. However, despite their efforts, she sustained severe burns and passed away on the way to the hospital.

The police have arrested the husband and initiated further investigations into the matter.
