A bizarre incident occurred during renowned religious scholar Dr Zakir Naik's lecture at Polo Ground, adjacent to the Governor House, in Karachi on Sunday.
After the lecture, the 58-year-old scholar began a question-and-answer session, separating participants into Muslim and non-Muslim groups.
A young boy, who introduced himself as Rafi, deceptively claimed to be a Christian to expedite his turn.
He asked Dr Naik why Pakistan, despite hosting large religious gatherings, tops the list in committing acts restricted by Allah.
The globally celebrated personality provided a detailed response.
After receiving his answer, Rafi surprisingly confessed that he was actually a Muslim.
When asked why he lied, Rafi simply said, "I was getting late."
Dr Naik calmly pointed out that Rafi had committed a sin by declaring himself a Christian despite being a Muslim.
"I should not have lied about my faith. I am sorry," the Karachi University student acknowledged.
The cleric accepted his apology and guided the boy to recite the Shahada, reaffirming his commitment to Islam.
Dr Naik is currently in Pakistan for a month-long visit, which began on September 30.
Upon his arrival at Islamabad airport, he was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Additional Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs Syed Dr Attaur Rehman, Parliamentary Secretary Religious Affairs Shamsheer Ali Mazari, and other dignitaries.
A day earlier, the globally celebrated personality included his public lectures in the metropolis.
Mr Naik will hold private meetings from October 7 to 10 in the port city.
He will then travel to Lahore and deliver lectures on October 12 and 13, and later in Islamabad on October 19 and 20.
These events will be broadcast live on Peace TV, allowing a broader audience to benefit from Dr. Naik's expertise in comparative religion.
