A woman was arrested in New Zealanad after two-year-old girl was found alive inside a suitcase kept in the luggage compartment of a bus, according to the police.
The New Zealand police said that the bus driver noticed movement in the suitcase during a stop in Kaiwaka, north of Auckland.
Upon opening the bag, the driver found the toddler “very hot but otherwise physically unharmed.”
The police did not specify how long the child had been confined or the bus’s origin and destination.

The girl was taken to a nearby hospital for assessment and remained under medical care Sunday night.
The arrested woman, whose name has not been disclosed, was charged with ill-treatment or neglect of a child and is due to appear in court on Monday.
InterCity, which confirmed the incident involved one of its coaches, said in a statement that children under three travel free when seated on an adult’s lap. The company did not comment further on the circumstances surrounding the child’s placement in the suitcase.
