'Wife turns into a snake at night and bites me': Indian man seeks police protection

In a bizarre incident, a man in India's Uttar Pradesh has filed a complaint claiming that his wife transforms into a snake at night and terrifies him.

The incident surfaced during a Samadhan Diwas (Public Grievance Day) hearing, where the complainant, identified as Meraj, approached the district magistrate seeking help against his wife, Naseemun.

In his written complaint, Meraj alleged that his wife was “mentally unstable” and that she would turn into a snake after dark, preventing him from sleeping. He further claimed that while she did not attempt to kill him, she would “bite” him repeatedly.

“I’m scared for my life,” Meraj reportedly told officials. “She keeps saying she has trapped me. I need police protection,” he added.

The district magistrate have directed local police to investigate the matter.

The unusual complaint quickly gained traction on social media, where many users expressed astonishment and raised concerns about the man’s mental condition.
