Gold prices reached historic levels in both global and domestic markets on Friday with investors closely monitoring the sharp uptick.
In the international bullion market, the price of gold rose by $107 per ounce, reaching a new peak of $4,319. The surge in global prices translated into a significant increase in Pakistan’s local market.
Per tola price of gold jumped by Rs 10,700 to reach Rs454,262, while the price for 10 grams rose by Rs 9,174 to Rs 389,456.
Silver also saw gains, with the price per tola climbing Rs232 to settle at Rs6,684, reflecting rising demand amid global market fluctuations.
Analysts attribute the rally to a combination of global economic uncertainty and sustained investor interest in precious metals as a hedge against market volatility.
