Gold surges by Rs 3,000 in Pakistan

The prices of gold and silver continued to move upwards in the international as well as domestic markets.

In the international market, the price of gold per ounce increased by $30 to $5,138.

Gold futures in the international market were up 0.6 percent at $5,136.22 per ounce at 0729 GMT after hitting a level since January 30. US gold futures for April delivery were up 1.5 percent at $5,157.50.

In the domestic market, the price of gold per tola was up by Rs3,000 at Rs534,562.

The price of 10 grams of gold was also up by Rs2,572 at Rs460,015.

Spot silver was up 1.2 percent at $85.57 per ounce, its highest level in more than two weeks.

The price of silver per tola was up by Rs146 at Rs9,094, while the price of 10 grams of silver was up by Rs125 at Rs7,796.
