The government has reduced the price of jet fuel following substantial cuts in petrol and diesel rates announced earlier, according to sources.

Sources said the price of jet fuel has been decreased by Rs56.97 per litre, bringing the new rate down to Rs238.87 per litre.

The reduction is expected to lower operational costs for airlines and may lead to a decrease in airfares, sources added. However, no official announcement regarding fare reductions has been made so far.

The latest adjustment comes a day after the government announced major reductions in the prices of petroleum products. Petrol prices were cut by Rs74.28 per litre, while diesel prices were reduced by Rs67.31 per litre.

The decline in fuel prices is expected to provide relief to consumers and businesses, particularly in the transportation and aviation sectors.
