KP govt decides to impose fixed tax on 'beauty parlours'

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Friday decided to impose a fixed tax on marriage halls and beauty parlours across the province from the next financial year.
The PTI-backed government will divide salons and beauty parlours into different categories in line with their size and volume of business to impose
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) will collect sales tax from the salons and beauty parlours.
"Those who pay sales tax at restaurants and hotels from debits cars will be charged 13 percent instead of 15 percent," KP Finance Advisor Muzzammil Aslam said.
"The owners of wedding halls and beauty parlors will be given the option to choose between fixed rates and percentage rates of sales tax on services," he added.
Aslam said that strict legal action would be taken against the businessmen and companies involved in tax evasion through the amendments in 'KP Sales Tax on Services Act 2022'.
