5.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Islamabad, Rawalpindi for second night in a row

Strong tremors from an earthquake were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several other cities late at night.
In addition to the twin cities, the tremors were also reported in Attock, Swabi, and Zafarwal.
Residents in Swat, Shangla, Buner, and Malakand also felt the earthquake. Other affected areas included Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan, Murree, Jhelum, and various parts of Azad Kashmir.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s Seismic Center, the tremors were recorded at 12:10 AM.

The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale and struck at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 15 kilometers southeast of Rawat.
It is worth noting that just a day earlier, an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 was felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
