Sindh Bar Council announces province-wide court boycott on August 4 over Shamsul Islam's killing

The Sindh Bar Council has announced a province-wide boycott of court proceedings on August 4 (Monday) in protest against the murder of senior lawyer Khawaja Shamsul Islam.
The council has also demanded the immediate arrest of the prime suspect.
According to police sources, the accused, Imran Afridi, is the son of Nabi Gul—a Sindh police officer who was assigned to the security of the slain lawyer.
Two relatives of the main suspect have been taken into custody, while the prime suspect remains at large.

Khawaja Shamsul Islam had gone to attend a funeral in DHA Phase 6 with his son when a gunman, dressed in traditional shalwar kameez, opened fire on him and fled the scene on a motorcycle.
The senior lawyer sustained bullet injuries to the abdomen, while his son was shot in the back.
Both were rushed to a nearby private hospital, where Khawaja Shamsul Islam succumbed to his injuries. His son remains under treatment.
