The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved the increase of Rs1.743 per unit in power tariff across the country for three months.
The latest increase will also be charged to the KE consumers from September to November in an account of fuel charges adjustment (FCA).
The hike aimed to provide Rs43.23 billion in funds to the ex-Wapda distribution companies.
According to the notification issued by Nepra, the consumers will pay Rs0.82 FCA per unit in the electricity bills in September, Rs0.37 in October, and Rs0.56 per unit in November.
“Nepra has determined a positive adjustment of Rs43,230 million on account of variation in capacity charges, variable O&M, additional recovery on incremental sales, use of system charges, market operator fee and FCA impact on transmission and distribution charges for four quarters of FY2023-24,” the body said in a notification.
“The uniform rates of Rs1.745 per unit apply to all consumer categories except lifeline consumers and prepaid consumers,” it added.
However, Nepra also notified that a negative adjustment of Rs0.37 per unit would be applied to all consumer categories except lifeline consumers, domestic consumers, and consumers using up to 300 units.
The negative adjustment will be applicable to the categories, including electric vehicle charging stations and prepaid electricity consumers of all categories.
