Pakistan imports mobile phones worth over Rs406 billion in nine months

Pakistan imported mobile phones worth Rs406.38 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year, media reports said, citing data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

They said that mobile phone imports increased by 29.15% during July–March of the current fiscal year compared to the same period last year, when imports stood at Rs 314.65 billion.

On a yearly basis, imports in March 2026 rose by 14.28%, indicating continued growth in demand. However, on a month-on-month basis, imports in March 2026 declined by 4.26% compared to February 2026.

During March 2026 alone, Pakistan imported mobile phones worth Rs 41.70 billion, compared to Rs 36.49 billion in March 2025. In February 2026, imports were recorded at Rs 43.56 billion.

The data highlights a steady upward trend in mobile phone imports over the year, despite short-term monthly fluctuations.
