Petrol price up Rs1.09, diesel rises Rs2.42 per litre for July 31

The federal government on Thursday increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), with the revised rates taking effect from Friday, July 31.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs1.09 per litre to Rs336.15, while high-speed diesel has gone up by Rs2.42 per litre to Rs393.04.
The government continues to charge Rs110 per litre in taxes and duties on petrol and Rs96 per litre on high-speed diesel.
The new fuel prices will come into effect on July 31, the notification said.
Diesel prices have declined significantly from their peak of Rs520.35 per litre recorded on April 3, while petrol has fallen from a high of Rs458.41 per litre reached on the same date.
