PM Shehbaz Sharif cuts diesel by Rs135, petrol by Rs12

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reduced diesel prices by Rs135 per litre and petrol by Rs12 per litre, while also announcing the continuation of subsidies.
Addressing the nation, he said the Gulf region is now moving towards peace instead of conflict, adding that parties once speaking of war are now ready for dialogue.
He thanked the leadership of Iran and the United States.
He stated that both countries agreed to a temporary ceasefire at his request and are coming to Islamabad for negotiations.
The prime minister said Pakistan, with confidence during a critical time, brought both sides to the negotiating table. He praised Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and his team for their sincere efforts.
He also paid tribute to Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying his team played a key role in cooling down the conflict and that his services will be remembered in history.
Shehbaz Sharif appealed to the nation to pray for the success of the negotiations, stating that Pakistan seeks to resolve complex issues through dialogue.
He said this is a significant moment not only for Pakistan but for the Muslim world, and the leadership will extend full support for successful talks.
He added that the government has spent Rs129 billion on public relief and, following the decline in global oil prices, fulfilled its promise to pass on the benefit to the people.
