Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has set the target for his government to increase annual exports by $60 billion in three years.

The premier gave a target to his team in a meeting with the representatives of the National Export Development Board (NEBD) held in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, PM Shehbaz directed the officials of export sectors to form a strategic plan and execute it rapidly.

“With our strong policies country’s exports touched a peak of $30 billion in the last fiscal year, of which information technology-related trade noted record export of over $3.2 billion,” said the PM.

The premier also directed the concerned authorities to form a report regarding issues identified by the exporters and come up with a solution within 15 days.

“I will chair the meeting of the export board every 45 days by myself,” said the younger Sharif and advised his cabinet, “Everyone must have to work for the development of Pakistan."

However, PM Shehbaz also emphasised boosting agricultural exports by processing high-quality seeds.

The coalition government head expressed the need to resolve shipping issues immediately to reduce delivery time to Europe and America.

He sought the cooperation of the Ministry of Trade and Investment regarding the transfer of Chinese export industries to Pakistan.

The meeting was briefed about the government’s efforts to boost exports and presented a plan for multiplying it.
