Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has rejected recent media reports suggesting a potential change in the investment position of e& (formerly Etisalat) in Pakistan, terming them “baseless and speculative”.

In a statement, PTCL said it was not aware of the sources cited in the reports and stressed the need for accurate and responsible reporting, noting that unverified information could trigger unnecessary market speculation.

The company reaffirmed that its shareholders remain fully committed to its long-term strategy and growth plans. PTCL highlighted several ongoing strategic initiatives, including the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan and Orion Towers, as well as Ufone’s 5G spectrum acquisition and the continued expansion of its fibre network across the country.

According to the statement, PTCL’s Board recently reviewed the company’s performance for the first quarter of 2026 and continues to provide strategic direction for future growth and transformation.

The company added that e&, as the managing shareholder, remains closely engaged with PTCL, with a shared focus on delivering long-term value and supporting the development of Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.

PTCL reiterated its commitment to creating sustainable value for its customers, stakeholders and shareholders.
