'I was sexually assaulted in childhood,' reveals Adeel Hashmi

A renowned actor and comedian Adeel Hashmi opened up about his personal life and revealed a painful childhood memory that he was a victim of sexual assault as a child.
The actor known for his versatile performance disclosed his painful memory in the MM show by Masarrat Misbah and said that he was targeted by a group of boys in his student life.
It was a vulnerable moment in the show when he revealed that a traumatic incident took place when he was in grade seven, he had been targeted but he couldn’t do anything as he was weaker than those who subjected him to torment.
Adeel said he received his earlier education from public school, many students in his class had been failing for a couple of years, and they were older than him.
“I was not tall or big, even behaviorally I was kid, and I remained silent and I had not much confidence, I thought if I would respond them or complaint about them to the teacher they would bully me more,” he said.
According to Adeel, when he finally opened up before his elder brother he did not take problem serious, unfortunately, he was unaware of the gravity of bullying and assault, and he advised him to deal them with in his way.
Despite such difficult circumstances actor said he did not disclose this incident to anyone, but he asked his son to discuss if anyone tries to disturb him or do inappropriate activities.
Adeel Hashmi is a big name in the comedy industry in Pakistan but he works for a selective projects.
