The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has withdrawn the requirement of 65% passing marks for MBBS and BDS programs.

According to an official notification issued by the PMDC, the passing marks, which had been raised from 50% to 65% for the 2024–25 session, have now been reverted to 50%.

The notification further states that the attendance requirement for MBBS and BDS students has also been revised — the previous condition of 85% attendance has been abolished, and the 75% attendance rule has been restored for the 2024–25 academic session.

The PMDC clarified that the 65% passing marks condition was applicable only for the 2024–25 session, and all medical universities have been instructed to implement the updated notification accordingly.
