Woman gives birth to baby on Rahman Baba Express in Karachi

Karachi: A woman gave birth to a baby girl while travelling on the Rahman Baba Express, officials have confirmed.

According to railway police, the train had stopped at Dhabeji Station due to an engine failure when the woman went into labour.

A doctor travelling on the train provided medical assistance to the mother during the delivery.

Railway police said both the mother and the newborn are in stable condition and out of danger. 

Earlier, a woman in Gujranwala gave birth to five babies, four girls and one boy, simultaneously at a private hospital in what medical staff described as a rare case.

The mother, identified as Komal, was brought to the hospital. According to the hospital staff, she gave birth to the quintuplets after a normal delivery.

One of the newborn babies was said to be in critical condition and has been shifted to the nursery for specialised care.
