At least 73 mobile phones, worth over INR2 million, were stolen during pop superstar Enrique Iglesias’ concert in Mumbai.

Indian media reported that seven First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed in connection with the thefts, which took place in the midst of a packed crowd of more than 25,000 attendees.

Among the victims were a makeup artist, a hotelier, students, a journalist, and several business professionals.

Tickets for the much-anticipated show — Iglesias’ first-ever performance in Mumbai — were priced from ₹7,000 onwards.

Police said an investigation is underway to track down the stolen phones and identify those responsible for the thefts.

The 50-year-old Grammy-winning artist enthralled fans with a 90-minute set featuring some of his biggest hits, including Hero and Bailamos.

The concert marked Iglesias’ return to India after 12 years; his last visit was in 2012. As part of his current three-city tour, the Latin pop icon is also performing in Pune, Gurugram, and Bengaluru.
