Maryam Nawaz’s daughter Mahnoor Safdar’s nikah with Azan Jabbar, son of businessman Jabbar Khalid, was held at the Sharif family’s Jati Umra residence in Lahore on September 12, 2026.

The private ceremony was attended by close relatives and selected guests, including former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Located near Raiwind on the outskirts of Lahore, Jati Umra is the Sharif family’s palatial private residence and has long been associated with major family and political gatherings.

The sprawling estate is reportedly spread over around 13,600 kanals, with its estimated land value potentially exceeding Rs5,300 crore, based on nearby property asking prices. However, this is an approximate calculation and does not represent an officially declared value of the estate.

Historical reports have described the complex as featuring large residential mansions, guest accommodation, extensive lawns and gardens, agricultural land, a swimming pool, fish ponds, multiple kitchens and drawing rooms, extensive parking areas and high-level security. Some reports have also mentioned a lake and a small zoo within the wider estate.

The main Raiwind Palace has been reported to have at least 22 rooms, with construction said to have begun in 1997 and been completed in around 17 months.

Over the years, Jati Umra has also remained in the public spotlight as the private residence of the Sharif family and a location associated with prominent political and family gatherings.
