Dhurandhar actor arrested for raping domestic help for a decade

Indian police have apprehended an actor, recently seen in the spy thriller Dhurandhar, over allegations of sexually assaulting his domestic worker for a decade.

Actor Nadeem Khan was arrested on January 22 following a complaint by a 41-year-old woman, Indian media said, citing Mumbai police officials.

According to the complaint, the woman had been working as domestic help for various actors and came to know Khan several years ago. She alleged that the actor assured her he would marry her and, on that promise, subjected her to repeated sexual assault over a period of nearly 10 years.

The woman told police that the alleged incidents took place at multiple locations, including her residence in Malwani and Khan’s home in Versova.

A police official said that a case was registered after recording the victim’s statement and the accused was subsequently arrested. “Based on her version of events, we have taken the accused into custody and further investigation is underway,” a media report quoted the official as saying.

Nadeem Khan was most recently seen in the spy thriller Dhurandhar, which featured Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
